Homemade Bread

It is super easy to make bread at home, guess most of you didn't know that, you can decide what to put in it and also control whatever goes into it, it is perfect to eat fresh out of the oven bread at home with just butter, coffee or tea although it is not advisable to start it when you are hungry because you may not be patience enough...Its cool to brag about the fact that you can make your own bread though...Wink

Ingredients
  • flour
  • yeast
  • salt
  • warm water
  • butter
  • eggs
  • little oil
  • honey or sugar (optional)
  • milk

Lets Make It
1. Combine warm water, yeast, little oil, milk, butter and little honey(optional) in a large bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes then add the salt and one egg. Stir.
2. Add the flour one cup at a time, stirring together after each cup. When it starts getting really sticky and forming a dough. Move to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, adding more flour as needed until the dough is firm and smooth and elastic to touch.
3. Place dough in medium greased bowl. Turn dough over in bowl so that the top is also lightly greased. Cover with clean cloth and let rise and double in size. Let it rest for about an hour.
4. Bring the dough out. Put on a lightly floured board or flat surface and knead for 5 minutes. Divide dough into 2 equal parts. Shape each into a loaf, any shape you want. You can put one of the dough in the fridge and bake another day.
5. Place the loaf in a greased pan also dust flour in the pan. Cover with a kitchen towel and allow to rise in a warm place for 45 minutes or when it doubles in size.
6. Preheat oven to 180c. Put water in an oven proof dish or in a pot without plastic arm and put under the bread tray in the oven to make the bread moist and crisp. Break another egg and use to brush the top of the bread to give the bread a lovely golden brown look.
7. Bake bread at 180c for 40 minutes or until the top of the bread is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when the top is tapped. Remove bread from pan and let cool on rack.
8. Munch away my friends...
